Club Captain Position Description

RICHMOND ROVERS RUGBY LEAGUE Club Captain POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION: REPORTING TO the Richmond Rovers Rugby League Senior Management Committee
Date: November 2008

This position is in conjunction with the constitution under Clause 14 which requires the officers of the club shall consist of patron, vice patron, president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and club captain.

ROLE:
1. Shall supervise all training operations and endeavour to see that training is conducted along the correct lines.
2. In conjunction with the Premier Manager and the Registration Officer, plan pre-season training and muster days at the commencement of the season as well as training nights and a roster for registration times.
3. To report regularly to the senior management committee on the progress and conduct of the teams.
4. To provide a strategy during the off season on how we can encourage players to join the club to ensure appropriate numbers are available for all grades.
5. To work in conjunction with the Coaching and Development Officer and SMC Team Liaison to deal with any minor complaints from players or about players. Any instance of this type to be reported to the senior management committee.
6. To provide appropriate support and encouragement to all club teams
7. To be responsible with the Club Registrar to ensure the registration of all playing members.
8. To co-ordinate with the Club Registrar and the Premier Fox Coach and Manager monthly meetings of all senior coaches and managers.  These meetings are to impart and share information, as well as gain feedback for improvement measures.
9. To meet and greet visiting teams and to ensure that they are accommodated at the club.
